Wenn im Rahmen einer Appendektomie sich die Appendix derart entzündlich verändert zeigt, dass die Appendixbasis sehr stark betroffen ist, dann wird häufig eine Coecalpolresektion durchgeführt. In diesen Fällen kodieren wir dann den OPS 5-455.35: Partielle Resektion des Dickdarmes: Zäkumresektion: Laparoskopisch. Wenn diese Fälle vom MD begutachtet werden, erfolgt grundsätzlich eine Änderung der Kodierung in entweder den OPS 5-470.11: Appendektomie: Laparoskopisch: Absetzung durch Klammern (Stapler) oder in den OPS 5-452.1: Lokale Exzision und Destruktion von erkranktem Gewebe des Dickdarmes, manchmal auch in diese beiden OPS Codes. Dies erfolgt häufig mit der Begründung, dass keine komplette Coecumresektion durchgeführt wurde. <br />
